BLESS YOUR HEART

PAINTED MURAL

My hometown, while historic in character, has always truly lacked in creative vibrancy that seems to be everywhere you turn in Birmingham. What started as a coffee shop convo between two college pals with the same hometown roots quickly became an opportunity! Fellow artist, Levi Sanford and I quickly got to work brainstorming on this collaboration.  The mural’s concept was centered around the ability for a photo-op aesthetic. The wall itself is located in the downtown area, or "heart" of Jasper, truly encompassing our final design. We chose the fun idiom "Bless Your Heart" due to it’s southern origin and quirky context  . We ran with a western identity, incorporating a lasso that draws your eye through the entire composition in combination with a southwestern color scheme. As for type, the heart features a 50s Palm Springs style paired with a western font.
